Brywood PTA needs your help!  We offer an array of opportunities to volunteer.  Volunteers can donate their time and skill at any of these activities.

Descriptions:

  • Academic Challenge – Coordinate the school-wide Academic Challenge program and manage student participation and awards.

  • Book Fair—Coordinate with school Book Fair dates/times.  Help setup/cleanup, book sales and coordinate volunteers.

  • Box Tops—Collect, tally, and submit Box Tops.

  • Brywood Dads—Coordinate and support our Dads group in their sponsored activities (Family Fun Nights, Family Hike, Talent Show, Astronomy Night, Campout, and more).

  • Directory—Work w/ VP Fundraising to get business sponsorship and put together school directory.

  • Disaster Preparedness—Coordinate and assist school staff with respect to equipment, plans, and procedures.

  • Event Posters—Post/Remove PTA event banners/posters/lawn signs on school walls/lawn.

  • Flyers—Create flyers, coordinate printing and distribution of flyers.

  • Guys Stuff—Organize Guys Stuff Health Education Night for 5th grade boys and their fathers/adult mentors.

  • Harvest Cup—Coach either the girls or boys Brywood teams (not both) for the annual one-day Irvine Harvest Cup Soccer tournament.  Responsible for scheduling and running practices.

  • Hearing & Vision Testing—Coordinate Volunteers/Schedule for Hearing/Vision Testing day with nurse.  Volunteer will escort students for hearing and vision testing.

  • IPSF ACE—Organize after-school enrichment classes at Brywood in conjunction with IPSF.  Includes coordinating class registrations, meetings and course previews, and site supervision.

  • IPSF Ambassador—Attend IPSF meetings and publicize IPSF news to the PTA and Brywood community.

  • Legislative Advocacy—Summarize and report California PTA and 4th District PTA Legislative priorities.

  • Marquee-Change information on school marquee weekly.

  • Mother-Daughter Tea—Coordinate or volunteer to assist coordination in Health Education Night for 5th grade girls and their mothers/adult mentors.

  • Multicultural Festival—Join the planning committee including Festival Chair, Entertainment, Parade, and Booth Coordinators, Silent Auction/Sponsorship.  Host a country booth, face painting, ticket sales, parking/security, setup/cleanup.

  • Picture Day—Coordinate Picture Day Volunteers/Schedule. Volunteers will escort students, assist photographers with orders, help students put on their best faces.

  • Pledge Drive—Coordinate/assist in promoting the Annual Fall Pledge Drive and associated activities.  Work with Financial Secretary on recording/reporting pledge drive records.

  • Red Ribbon Week—Coordinate and promote Red Ribbon Week (Oct).  Activities include Pennies for Prevention.

  • Reflections—Promote and coordinate the PTA Reflections Arts contest.  Activities include coordinate volunteers for judging and plan Reflections party for participants.

  • Running Club—Coordinate running club practices and the KROC Program.  Lead weekly practices, coordinate volunteers to assist with practice setup/cleanup, student check-in/check-out, and administrative needs.

  • Shop & Earn—Coordinate and promote Shop & Earn programs including Communities for Cause, Amazon Smile, Office Max/Office Depot, Ralphs…

  • Team Kids—Coordinate activities in conjunction with Team Kids Lead Teacher and Program Coach.

  • Veterans Day Flag Deck—Coordinate and promote Veteran’s Day Flag Deck ceremonies and coffee.

  • Walk to School Day—Coordinate event activity with the City of Irvine/other local schools.

  • Yearbook-Coordinate with class photographers to collect class pictures and other event pictures.  Coordinate with school picture & yearbook company and design yearbook.  Coordinate yearbook sales and related activities.
